Dick Cheney in a 1994 interview explaining how invading Iraq would lead to a "quagmire".

He makes several extremely salient and visionary points:

1. No one would support a US invasion, least of all important Arab allies. This would make it an unpopular American occupation;

2. In the absence of a strong central government, Iraq would essentially go to pieces, splintering along religious and ethnic lines; and

3. It would, to use his word, become a quagmire.

I guess someone could explain this away with some 9/11...

According to a July poll conducted by Scripps News Service, one-third of Americans think the government either carried out the 9/11 attacks or intentionally allowed them to happen in order to provide a pretext for war in the Middle East. This is at once alarming and unsurprising. Alarming, because if tens of millions of Americans really believe their government was complicit in the murder of 3,000 of their fellow citizens, they seem remarkably sanguine about this fact. By and large, life continues as before, even though tens of millions of...

Five years later, according the British newspaper, the Independent, the Bush administration's Global War on Terror has resulted in, at a minimum, 20 times the deaths of 9/11; at a maximum, 60 times. It has "directly killed a minimum of 62,006 people, created 4.5 million refugees and cost the US more than then the sum needed to pay off the debts of every poor nation on earth. If estimates of other, unquantified, deaths -- of insurgents, the Iraq military during the 2003 invasion, those not recorded individually by Western media, and those dying...

On September 11th 2006 MSNBC raised a question on 9/11 as the "question of the day".

In its original form, until about 15:00 UTC, it looked like this:
http://world.commongate...otos/18273

What happened then obviously looks like some Illuminati at MSNBC didn´t like the answering quote. Check wording carefully: "Yes, I believe there´s evidence."
So what MSNBC did was removing the question (including the answers) totally and replacing it with a more...

A majority of Canadians believe U.S. foreign policy was one of the root causes that led to the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, and Quebecers are quicker to criticize the U.S. administration for its international actions than other Canadians, a recent poll suggests.

Those conclusions are found in a newly released poll conducted by Léger Marketing for the Association for Canadian Studies.

The poll suggests that 77 per cent of Quebecers polled primarily blame American foreign policy for the Sept. 11 attacks. The results suggest 57 per cent in...

President Bush was in the midst of explaining how the attacks of 9/11 inspired his “freedom agenda” and the attacks on Iraq until a reporter, Ken Herman of Cox News, interrupted to ask what Iraq had to do with 9/11. “Nothing,” Bush defiantly answered. Watch it.
